Diaz & Babuts

Collaborations is a project created with Joey Christiano Diaz representing over a decades worth of photographing each other in the many different locations we have lived and traveled to. As a queer identified couple, engaging in this ongoing photographic practice has been vital in expressing our visibility and a love that moves through time and space. Through interaction with our environment we are locating ourselves in relationship to it, at the same time that we are investigating a disruption of the normative dictates of these spaces. Through these photos we are claiming our existence outside of forces that attempt to define, categorize and enforce appraisals on human lives.
